A monument to victims of the Stalinist repression will be unveiled in the capital of Gagauzia Comrat. According to the press service of the town’s administration, the ceremony was scheduled for September 13, IPN reports.

The construction of the monument is close to an end. The contractor is now laying out the adjoining area. The monument is located on the main street of the town, near the Regional Museum of History.

The decision to built the monument has been taken by the Comrat Municipal Council this spring, at the request of the town’s board of deans.
