The future recipients of pensions as part of the public social insurance system, who live in the Transnistrian region and do not receive pensions from the Transnistrian administration, will receive monthly allowances from the state budget. A bill to this effect was passed by Parliament in two readings in the June 30 sitting, IPN reports.
The pensions are set for women aged between 55 and the standard retirement age (63 in 2028 according to changes made to the legislation) and for men aged between 60 and the standard retirement age (63 in 2019).
The benefit will represent 550 lei and over 29 million lei will be allocated annually from the state budget for the purpose.
Deputy Minister of Labor, Social Protection and Family Viorica Dumbraveanu said the given allowances would be of great aid to those who hold Moldovan nationality and live on the left side of the Nistru River given that a part of them face economic problems, including because of the restricted access to the owned farmland.
