Remaining with the chance to qualify after suffering a 1-4 defeat to England, the national team of Montenegro is suffering from low morale before the last match of the 2014 World Cup preliminaries against Moldova. Moreover, Montenegro will be unable to use its best eleven players as many of them were sidelined by injuries, IPN reports.
The main absentee is Juventus striker Mirko Vucinic, who scored the only goal in the match played in Chisinau. Goalkeeper Mladen Bozovic and the former player of Sheriff Vladimir Volkov also suffered injured.
Instead, the players of Moldova are all in good form and hope to score a positive result. “A draw will do. We are building a team that will fight for qualification for the 2016 European Championship. This is the objective set by the administration of the Moldovan Football Federation,” said Moldova coach Ion Caras.
The match between Montenegro and Moldova will be played at the Pod Goricom Stadium in Podgorica starting at 10pm, Moldova’s time. It will be controlled by a group of Austrian referees headed by Robert Schoergenhofer.
