Monica Macovei named head of EU interparliamentary delegation in Moldova
At the first sitting of the European Parliament, Romania’s Monica Macovei was appointed as head of the EU interparliamentary delegation in Moldova, Info-Prim Neo’s correspondent in Bucharest reports.
According to a communiqué from the European People’s Party, the decision was made at the meeting where the delegation was constituted.
“As head of this delegation, I will encourage and support the reforms promoting the interests of Moldova and the Moldovan people,” Monica Macovei said.
The former Minister of Justice of Romania was designated as a member of the interparliamentary delegation by a jury composed of MEPs and journalists. She was selected from 12 candidates representing 12 EU member states.
