Money instead of special food for Chernobyl liquidators

The Moldovan participants in the liquidation of the consequences of the Chernobyl accident will get money instead of the food eliminating nuclides from the bodies. The Parliament voted such a draft law in two readings on Friday, March 7, Info-Prim Neo reports. MP Vladimir Eremciuc, the author of the modifications, has said the state is not in control of shops, and thus there appear difficulties in insuring the Chernobyl rescuers with food which eliminates radio nuclides from bodies. According to physiological norms, the sum needed by such a person is 850 lei monthly, however it is the Government which will establish the amount of the compensation. During the debates in the sitting, MP Valentina Cusnir has suggested to extend the provision over the children of the accident liquidators, but the author has said such an initiative will appear later. Deputy Alexandru Oleinic has suggested that the sum should be written in the draft, but the proposal was rejected. The author specified the amount of the compensation will be reckoned annually, depending on the inflation level, and changes in the prices of the respective foodstuffs. 28m lei more are needed in order to realize the provisions of the law.
