Monday meetings of senior state officials will not be held in October

President Igor Dodon, Parliament Speaker Zinaida Grechanyi and Prime Minister Ion Chicu will not have the traditional Monday meetings followed by statements for the press until November 1 given that the incumbent President will be busy with the campaign prior to the presidential elections. “Evidently, there will be a dialog between the President, Speaker and Prime Minister, but not in a public format. We will have meetings when necessary,” Igor Dodon stated after the September 28 meeting of the senior state officials, IPN reports.

“The campaign preceding the presidential elections starts this Friday, October 2. Most probably, meetings in such a format, as we usually come together on Monday, will not be held during the election campaign as we must avoid interpretations about the use of images or administrative resources,” stated President Dodon.

He also said that statements about alleged attempts to falsify and rig the elections are senseless. “We do not see the logic of such statements. You saw that the CEC members voted practically unanimously in favor of the set number of polling stations abroad - 8 out of 9 members”.

According to Igor Dodon, with 17 polling stations established in the Russian Federation, 30 in Italy, with a total of 86 stations in the EU, there can be no other more advantageous distribution in the East or the West. “Someone probably see that they will lose the elections and start to make assertions about rigging.”
