Moldtelecom offers access to its infrastructure to private companies

Beginning in April, private ICT companies will have access to the national operator Moldtelecom’s infrastructure in the whole country. The announcement was made on Thursday, March 24, at a round table on the topic of ICT sector’s liberalization, Info-Prim Neo reports. Ion Rosca, Moldtelecom commercial director, said his company had the responsibility to be the engine of ICT’s development in Moldova by offering technical support for all operators and for fair competition. Ion Rosca stressed that one of the goals launched in 2010 was the continued liberalization of the market and equal conditions for all companies. “As a result of this process and of investments made in 2010-2011, since April 1, we can offer all Moldovan operators access to Moldtelecom’s infrastructure”, company’s commercial director said. The national operator will provide ICT companies with access points and bandwidth traffic so that they could offer Bitstream services and loan capacity services. Ion Rosca says that alternative operators will have the possibility to provide services like internet, digital television to final consumers through the Moldtelecom network as soon as regulation procedures are defined. ICT sector is a highly productive sector with great potential that accounts for 10% of Moldova’s GDP.
