Moldova's U-21 defeats Luxembourg 2:0
Moldova's national U-21 football team won 2:0 against Luxembourg, in the last qualifier for the 2009 European Cup on Tuesday. The scorers are Iurie Livandovschi (min.53) and Artur Patras (min.72), Info-Prim Neo reports.
Head coach Sergiu Kirilov stated that the team played exceptionally well and thanked them for devotion and self-abnegation. “That was a good match, although there was a certain state of anxiety in our camp in the first round. After the break our footballer played more uninhibitedly and managed to score the winning goals”.
Asked about the possibility of staying with the U-21s for another term, Kirilov said he would be honored to receive such an offer from the Moldovan Football Federation “I wish very much to stay with the national team and continue my coaching career”, said he.
