The foreigners visiting Romania will be able to extend their tourist route over the Prut River, in Moldova, based on four common tourist routes. Director general of the Tourism Agency of Moldova Nicolae Platon has told IPN that he will soon have a meeting with his Romanian counterpart to agree the four joint tourist programs.
The joint offers will be called generically, namely “wine road”, “medieval jewels”, “road of monasteries” and “cultural tourism”. During the first trip, the tourists will be able to familiarize themselves with established wineries and vineyards from both sides of the Prut. The route “medieval jewels” will include the Seat Fortress of Suceava and Moldova’s Soroca Fortress. “Initially, we wanted to also include the Hotin Fortress, but gave up owing to the military operations in Ukraine,” stated Nicolae Platon.
The tourists who will buy the offer “road of monasteries” will be able to visit the monasteries of the Romanian region Suceava, which were included in the UNESCO heritage. Afterward, during two days, they will be able to visit the Moldovan monasteries Capriana, Hancu, Curchi and “Butuceni” in Orhei, Tipova and Saharna. At the second stage, if it is a three-day package, the tourist route will be extended to cover the monasteries Frumoasa, Raciula, Harbovat, and Harjauca.
Nicolae Platon also said that the last tourist package, the cultural one, will include visits to different cultural-artistic festivals where the tourists will be able to find out more about the history and traditions from the two sides of the Prut.
