Moldova’s results at seventh round of World Chess Olympiad

The men’s team of Moldova beat 3.5-0.5 the squad of the United Arab Emirates in the seventh round of the World Chess Olympiad. This was the fourth victory scored by the Moldovan chess players so far. The women’s team lost 1-3 to the team of Bulgaria, IPN reports.

Moldova now ranks 29th among the 180 teams. Grand masters Viorel Bologan and Elena Partac and master Olga Hancu drew, while grand master Viorel Iordachescu and masters Vladimir Hamitsevich and Sergey Vedmediuc had wins.

In the eighth round, the men’s team plays the squad of Paraguay, while the women’s team meets the squad of Albania.

In the rounds played until now, the men’s team won four victories, suffered two defeats and had a draw, while the women’s team scored four victories and suffered three defeats.
