“Regardless of where you serve your mandate, European integration is top priority for Moldova. Promoting Moldova’s EU integration agenda is one of the fundamental tasks”, told PM Vlad Filat, on Wednesday, to the heads of the Moldovan diplomatic missions abroad, reports Info-Prim Neo. “Many of you have already been representing our country for more than two years. And, in this sense, you are being given an extremely important mission – to create a new type of diplomacy for Moldova. You have been appointed ambassadors, because we completely trust your capacity to represent our country and promote its interests. But I’d like to point out that this complete trust also implies high expectations, both from the citizens and the Government”, stated Vlad Filat. Vlad Filat specified that an important element in diplomatic activity is the promotion of economic interests like the attraction of foreign investment to Moldova, as well as promoting exports. The Premier also talked about the Eastern Partnership Summit, which will take place in Vilnius, Lithuania, in November 2013, and mentioned its importance for Moldova. Until then Moldova should have finalized implementing the second stage of the visa liberalization plan and negotiations on the Deep And Comprehensive Free Trade Area with the EU. The PM also mentioned the impressions that the diplomats leave, warning that they should be in strict accordance with Moldova’s interests. “Moldova needs a more dynamic and active foreign policy, that would yield results sizeable for every citizen”, concluded the Prime Minister. The convention of the heads of diplomatic missions takes place between July 18 and 20.
