Moldova's Open Run Championship reaches 11th edition
Chisinau residents and guests, both amateurs and professionals, may try their strength on Saturday, June 7, at 11th edition of the Open Running Championship from 12 to 24 hours. The event is patronaged by the Supermarathon Association from Moldova, Info-Prim Neo reports.
Sources from the association say the track is as long as 2.6 km and is near what has remained from Valea Morilor park. The contest will start at 10.00.
In 2007, 40 participants from Moldova, Ukraine, Belarus and Germany lined up for the start of the run. The gold for the 24-hour race went to Ukraine, in Zaporozhie taken by Solodovnikoff Andrei, who ran 206 km. The 12- hour run for women was won by the Moldovan Nadejda Lucov, who ran 86 km.
The marathon is included into the calendar of international contests.
