The IT industry of Moldova in 2019 witnessed a significant growth. At the end of 2019, “Moldova IT Park” had 525 resident companies, an increase of 55% compared with the start of the same year, secretary of state at the Ministry of Economy and Infrastructure Vitalie Tarlev was quoted by IPN as saying in a press briefing.
Presenting a report on the activity of “Moldova IT Park” in 2019, the official said the resident companies last year employed over 9,700 persons with an average monthly salary of 29,800 lei, by 22% higher than in 2018 and 2.5 times higher than in 2017, before the creation of “Moldova IT Park”.
The report shows 133 foreign companies and 223 national companies worked in the park last year. Sales revenues were by 64% higher than in 2018. Among the main activities carried out by the residents are the production of software by order (50%) and IT consultancy (30%).
“Moldova IT Park” is the first IT park of Moldova. Launched on January 1, 2018 with a common tax of 7% of the sales revenues and with simplified interaction with the authorities, “Moldova IT Park” was recognized by the International Telecommunication Union as one of the best global practices in promoting and developing IT ecosystems.
