For the Moldovan politicians, the main issue is for the Republic of Moldova to move on faster on the path of European integration so that it has access to European funds, expert in political sciences Anatol Taranu stated in the program “Fabrika” on Publika TV channel, IPN reports.
“We are not really interested in discussing the current big problems of the European Union, especially of the more advanced countries. Moldova’s interest is very selfish – to have access to European development funds,” stated Anatol Taranu.
Economist Roman Chirca noted the direction to the EU is safer and more correct. As regards the economy, Moldova applied a model without understanding this. It would be a good idea to gradually switch over to the taxation of the result of economic activity.
According to the economist, Moldova borrowed the European model of the fiscal system for collecting revenues into the budget. This is based on the accumulation of the value added tax. “The qualitative difference between the Republic of Moldova and the European Union is that there are corporations in the EU and these means can be gathered there. As we do not have a basis of the real sector of the economy, we apply the same model of collecting the value added tax that significantly discourages entrepreneurial activity, appearance of small and medium-sized enterprises, circulation of gods, exchanges and economic growth,” stated Roman Chirca.
