The exports of Moldovan table grapes last year saw a significant growth on 2022. Producers managed to increase the quantity of exported grapes by about 11% and the value by about 33%. Also, Moldova’s grapes reached ten other countries, IPN reports.
With reference to data of the Customs Service, the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Industry said that 84,550 tonnes of table grapes worth a total of US$75.67 million were exported in 2023. The average price for one kilogram was US$0.9.
In 2023, the geography of exports expanded considerably, with deliveries to 33 countries, compared to 23 countries in 2022. Among the new destinations were Sweden, Slovenia, Slovakia, Serbia, Italy, Lithuania, United Arab Emirates, Hong Kong, Kyrgyzstan, Albania, etc.
According to the European Parliament’s decision, Moldovan grape exporters can access the European Union market duty-free and without quantitative restrictions.
