The national football team of Moldova slipped six spots to the 105th in the FIFA rankings released on September 18, IPN reports.
The slip follows the defeats sustained to Ukraine and Montenegro. The match played in Podgorica was the first of the 2016 European Championship qualifying rounds. Montenegro ranks 43rd. The other opponents of Moldova have the following positions: Russia – 23rd, Sweden – 32nd, Austria – 39th and Liechtenstein – 172nd. Moldova plays against Austria in Chisinau on October 9.
Germany tops the FIFA rankings, being followed by Argentina and Columbia. The next rankings will be made public on October 23.
