Moldova's football squad climbs nine spots in FIFA rankings
The national football team of Moldova moved up nine positions in the FIFA rankings. Manager Gabi Balint's squad ranks 80th with 398 points. The progress is due to the successful performance in the EURO 2012 qualifiers, when Moldova beat Finland at home 2-0, Info-Prim Neo reports.
Moldova's opponents in this qualifying round take the following positions: the Netherlands – 2nd, Sweden – 32nd, Hungary – 51st, Finland – 64th, San Marino – 203rd.
Montenegro climbed 33 spots to the 40th. The rankings are headed by Spain, the Netherlands and Brazil. The next FIFA rankings will be published on October 20.
