The first President of Moldova Mircea Snegur said he voted in favor of creating conditions for appropriately governing the country. “Today’s referendum is of major importance for Moldova as the future internal situation depends on it,” he said, quoted by Info-Prim Neo. Mircea Snegur expressed his hope that the next head of state will establish fruitful relations with all the branches of power and the political disagreements will be transformed into joint efforts aimed at revitalizing the economy, solving electoral problems and improving the situation in the country. The first President of Moldova is convinced that the turnout of voters today will be high and the plebiscite will be validated. The voters today are to decide if the head of state will be elected by popular vote or in Parliament as until now.
