Moldova's European integration aspirations discussed in Bucharest

Consultations between Moldovan and Romanian delegations will take place in Bucharest on May 24. Oxana Iutes, head of the Moldovan Foreign Ministry's press office, said the discussions are aimed at strengthening the bilateral political dialogue and stimulating the cooperation between Romania and Moldova so as to help Moldova come closer to the EU, Info-Prim Neo reports. Oxana Iutes said the two groups of experts will discuss the steps taken by Moldova to liberalize the visa regime with the European Union, the progress made in negotiating the Association Agreement with the EU, the prospects of opening the dialogue on the creation of the Deep and Comprehensive Free Trade Area, and the development of the relations between Moldova and the EU in other areas. In a communique, the Embassy of Romania in Chisinau informs that the Romanian side will be represented at the consultations by Secretary of State for European Affairs Bogdan Aurescu. The working group of Moldova will be headed by Deputy Foreign Minister Natalia Gherman.
