European Commissioner for Neighborhood Policy and Enlargement Negotiations Johannes Hahn encouraged the Moldovan authorities to continue to act with determination so as to implement the economic and structural reforms, in particular in the justice sector, to fight corruption and to consolidate the financial-banking sector. The European official had a meeting with Moldovan Minister of Foreign Affairs Andrei Galbur, who is taking part in the ministerial meeting of the Visegrad Group with the Eastern Partnership countries and invitees of the EU member states and European institutions, which is taking place in Prague, IPN reports.
According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Moldova, Andrei Galbur also had a meeting with the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade of Hungary Péter Szijjártó. The two conferred on the regional situation and the development of the bilateral relations. In particular, the officials pleaded for pragmatic interaction between the two states so as to make use of Hungary’s support in doing the reforms deriving from the EU-Moldova Association Agreement.
While in Prague, Andrei Galbur also met with the Czech Foreign Affairs Minister Lubomír Zaorálek. The officials discussed the preparation of the visit by the Prime Minister of the Czech Republic Bohuslav Sobotka to Moldova. Minister Zaorálek reiterated his country’s readiness to continue to assist Moldova in implementing the reforms program and sustainable development policies.
