Moldova's energy agency renews license for Kuchurgan power plant

The National Energy Regulatory Agency (ANRE) issued Moldavskaya GRES, the operator of the Kuchurgan power plant, with a new license for electricity production for another term of 6 months due to the expiry of the previous license, Info-Prim Neo reports. ANRE said in a press release that, since 2006, decisions to issue licenses to Moldavskaya GRES have been adopted in accordance with the Government's Decision on the regularization of the flows of goods imported and exported by Transnistria, which allows companies based in the Transnistrian region to obtain licenses for specific activities. In the first quarter of 2011, ANRE also issued three licenses for activity on the natural gas market. The company Niagors SRL was granted a license for distribution of gas and another on for supply of gas at regulated tariffs; a third license was granted to Partener-Gaz for supply of gas at unregulated tariffs. In this period, Gaz Taf Grup SRL refused to extend its two expired licenses on the gas market. In the same period, ANRE issued 12 licenses and 56 copies of licenses for activities on the market of petroleum products. At present the number of valid licenses on the energy market stands at 250.
