The Consulate of the Republic of Moldova in Padova will be inaugurated on August 1, Prime Minister Iurie Leanca announced in the July 11 meeting of the Cabinet. He said that there are about 40,000 Moldovans in this region, IPN reports.
“This consulate will be a powerful center of interaction and, I hope, of attraction, which will find solutions to the problems faced by the Moldovans there. We will thus be able to swifter provide services of a higher quality to our co-nationals,” stated Iurie Leanca.
The Premier also said that according to his information, up to 2 million people could cross Moldova’s borders over the next few months. He called on the Border Police and the Customs Service to make effort to be correct and friendly towards the people and to reduce the queues as much as possible, not yet to the detriment of control.
