Moldova's consulate in Iasi will be open in a month
The consulate of Moldova in the Romanian town of Iasi will start work on the first days of April, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Iurie Leanca announced after Wednesday's meeting of the Government, Info-Prim Neo reports.
The consulate in Iasi will provide assistance to the Moldovan citizens and will issue small-scale traffic permits. The Romanian authorities stated the Agreement on Small-Scale Border Traffic will come into force on February 26 and there were printed the first 350,000 permits.
In another connection, Iurie Leanca said the Moldovan Embassy in Spain will be open in the near future. “It will be a small, but efficient embassy,” the minister said.
Spain is now holding the presidency of the European Union and Moldova counts on this country's support in the talks on the future association agreement with the EU.
