The Government approved a draft presidential degree on the recalling of Moldova’s Ambassador to Russia Andrei Neguta. The reason wasn’t specified, Info-Prim Neo reports. Prime Minister Vlad Filat instructed Foreign Minister Iurie Leanca to tell the ambassadors that their duty is to represent Moldova abroad and to conscientiously perform their tasks. In a news conference two weeks ago, MP Mihai Godea said Ambassador Andrei Neguta should be recalled owing to his public statements about the Transnistrian region and the pullout of the military troops. “By his attempts to justify the Russian military presence on the sovereign and independent territory of Moldova, Andrei Negut reduces the effects of the diplomatic efforts made during the last 20 years, shows that he defies the international law, goes against the principles of the government program and flouts the international resolutions,” the lawmaker said then. The Government also confirmed Grigore Belostecinic as rector of the Academy of Economic Studies of Moldova for a new term.
