Moldova's ambassador in Moscow summoned to Russian Foreign Ministry

Moldova's Ambassador in Moscow Lilian Darii was summoned to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation. The diplomat was handed a note of protest in connection with Wednesday’s bomb threat at the Embassy of Russia in Chisinau, IPN reports.

The Russian Ministry’s press release says that the Moldovan authorities committed a flagrant violation of international obligations. "The law enforcement officers prevented the ambassador of the Russian Federation from entering the precincts of the diplomatic mission, and employees and their family members, including women and children, who were inside the embassy, were forbidden to leave the city. The embassy itself has not received any official notification from the authorities about the alleged threat."

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Moldova has not yet reacted to the protest note handed over in Moscow.
