Moldova’s airspace will remain closed during state of emergency

The airspace of the Republic of Moldova will remain closed throughout the period of the state of emergency and such a move is aimed at ensuring the safety and security of civil aviation, said the Civil Aviation Authority.

The Authority and the Ministry of Defense are constantly monitoring the situation and aim to open the national airspace as soon as possible. The authorities’ last meeting on the issue was held on March 3. There will be examined all the aspects presented by institution representatives who attended the meeting and a decision will be taken later.

Moldova closed its airspace until March 4 in connection with the Russian invasion of Ukraine.

The state of emergency in Moldova was declared on February 24 for a period of 60 days, which is until April 24.
