President Nicolae Timofti, Head of Parliament Andrian Candu and acting Premier Gheroghe Brega expressed their condolences to the families of the victims of the deadly Paris attacks of November 13, IPN reports.
“I make common cause with the Finch people on this black day for the human civilization. It’s hard to realize the dimension of the suffering caused by these acts of terrorism, to which Europe should reply forcefully and firmly,” the head of stat wrote on his Facebook account.
Moldova’s Parliament vehemently condemns the terrorist attacks in France. “I was shocked by the news of the attacks in Paris. The Republic of Moldova condemns these terrorist acts and is close to France in these moments of sorrow. We transmit our feelings of compassion and solidarity to the French people,” said Speaker Andrian Candu.
“I was deeply saddened by the news of the cruel Paris attacks that resulted in numerous casualties. These attacks hit not only the French people, but also the whole mankind. In these moments of grief, in the name of the Government of Moldova and in my personal name, I offer our compassion to the people of France. Condolences and strength to the grieving families,” said acting Prime Minister Gheorghe Brega.
At least 140 people have died in Paris in a wave of coordinated gun and suicide bomb attacks. Six venues across Paris were targeted. Gunmen opened fire at a rock concert and on patrons in restaurants and a series of bombs were detonated near the Stade de France, where the national team was playing Germany. French President François Hollande declared a state of emergency and tightened controls on the country’s borders. Hostages were taken in one place and a young man of these continuously informed through his Twitter account that the attackers killed the hostages one after another.
It’s not yet known if there are Moldovans among the victims.
