Moldovans with Romanian nationality urged to support PMP team at European elections

The Romanian citizens in Moldova are urged to support the team of the People’s Movement Party of Romania (PMP) in the May 26 European Parliament elections. In a news conference in Chisinau, the party’s leader Eugen Tomac that even if the Republic of Moldova goes through a very difficult period, there are people over the Prut, in Romania, who think about better prospects for the Republic of Moldova. Eugen Tomac also said that for the party he heads it is important for the European project not to stop at the Prut, IPN reports.

According to Eugen Tomac, the EU has now on the left side of the Prut  almost 1 million European citizens, Moldovans who regained the Romanian nationality, and this objective should not be stopped.  This is also the reason for which the PMP wants to go to Brussels with the message: “All the Romanians untied in Europe”. The European project is now threatened by people who struggle openly against the EU, while the Romanians are obliged to defend this project as more integration will help more the EU in the future.

The leader of the PMP also said that the objective of the party is to enlarge Europe on the left side of the Prut as well even if the union of the two states remains the only viable solution at present. “Most of the citizens in the Republic of Moldova should understand that they can enjoy the salaries, pensions and quality of life witnessed in Europe through only one project – the union with Romania,” stated Eugen Tomac.

The Romanian MP also said that they want very much the Romanians in Moldova to become involved in this electoral competition as Moldova’s future depends a lot on the voices of those who will enter the European Parliament that is renewed every five years.
