Moldovans will travel visa-free to Turkey from June

The Moldovan citizens will be able to travel visa-free to Turkey starting with June 1. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration announced that the internal procedures for the coming into force of the agreement on the reciprocal abolition of visas and the agreement on readmission of persons whose stay is illegal between the Government of Moldova and the Government of Turkey, which were signed in Ankara on November 1, 2012, have been completed, IPN reports.

Thus, from June 1, the citizens of both states who have a valid travel document, such as a simple or a biometric passport, are exempted from applying for visas for entering, leaving, transiting or staying temporarily on the territory of the other state for 90 days within six months of the first entry.

The Moldovan citizens who will want to travel to Turkey must have a passport valid for at least another 60 days of the planned country leaving day.

These regulations also apply to the citizens of both of the states involved in freight and passenger transportation, including train, truck and bus drivers, conductors and the crew of civil planes and trains.

The Moldovans who will want to stay in Turkey for a period longer than 90 days within six months will have to apply for a long-stay visa.
