The citizens of Moldova will be able to get free travel and transit visas for Bulgaria, Moldova’s Foreign Deputy Minister Valeriu Ostalep stated today at a meeting with his Bulgarian counterpart, Milen Keremedchiev, visiting Moldova. A final decision is due to be made during bilateral interministerial consultations, to take place in January 2008 in Sofia. According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration, easier visa requirements for Moldovans will bring advantages to Bulgaria’s tourism and represent a step forward in fulfilling the objective of ensuring free movement for Moldovan nationals across the European Union. Bulgarians, like the citizens of all EU member countries, enjoy free visas for Moldova starting 1 January 2007.
