The Moldovans can adjust themselves to the political and economic systems when these are good, as it happens in the European states. This means that the process of transforming the state institutions and the social and political systems must be continued in Moldova so that they are compatible with the EU’s systems. The Moldovans will then feel well at home too, Prime Minister Iurie Leanca said in an interview for Radio Moldova station, quoted by IPN.
“I often say that our people easily integrate with the EU member states, for example Italy, where there is the largest Moldovan community, of about 200,000 people. They bring their families, learn the language and obey the legislation. They know how to integrate well and to show their skills and talents because they face a multitude of problems at home,” stated the Premier.
According to Iurie Leanca, the rapprochement with the European Union is important because it is first of all a process of modernizing Moldova and of transforming it into a viable state.
Iurie Leanca also said that the ratification of the Association Agreement between Moldova and the EU by the European Parliament represents recognition of the reforms done in Moldova. Definite steps are now to be taken towards the objective set by Moldova – the integration into the European Union.
