Moldovans will enjoy social guarantees in Czech Republic
The Moldovans will benefit from social guarantees in the Czech Republic. This became possible after the legislative body ratified a bilateral agreement, whereby the persons who live on a permanent basis or work on a temporary basis on the territory of the other state party to the agreement will receive old age pensions, disability allowances and successor pensions from the host country, Info-Prim Neo reports.
According to Deputy Minister of Labor, Social Protection and Family Ana Vasilache, the agreement aims to ensure a set of social security guarantees for migrant workers and will eliminate the negative effects of the migration processes appearing when the workers return home. Every state party to the agreement will pay the part of the social benefit calculated for the period during which a person worked on its territory.
Igor Corman, chairman of the Parliament’s commission on foreign policy and European integration, said that the agreement is very important as there is a large community of Moldovans in the Czech Republic. “The implementation of this agreement will create favorable conditions for appropriately protecting the social and economic rights of the Moldovans who settled or temporarily work in the Czech Republic,” he stated.
The agreement on social security between Moldova and the Czech Republic was signed in Prague on November 29, 2011.
