Moldovans will be able to apply for Norwegian visas at Common Application Center

Moldovan citizens will soon be able to apply for Schengen visas for Norway at the Common Application Center in Chisinau. The announcement was made at a news conference by the newly-installed Hungarian Ambassador to Moldova Mátyás Szilágyi, Info-Prim Neo reports. The Ambassador said that Norway’s intention to join the Common Application Center had already been confirmed verbally. It will take a while to implement and finalize the procedure. Moldovans will be able to apply for visa in Chisinau and will get the result in a matter of days. They will obtain tourist visas with the right to stay 90 days in Norway. In 2012, the Common Application Center in Chisinau received over 15,000 visa applications. About 1,000 of them were rejected. “The rejection rate is very low and is the proof that our institution is very flexible and sensible in treating the problems of Moldovan citizens. The rules of our behavior are to answer all legal requests, to respect all the norms and standards of the EU’s common visa regime”, said the diplomat. The common center for issuing EU visas opened in Chisinau in April 2007. Initially, it represented 4 countries, but the number rose in time to 15 today.
