Moldovans who get stuck in Odessa region to be assisted

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration examined the case of the Moldovans who got stuck in Odessa region and, through the agency of the Consular Office of the Republic of Moldova in Odessa, keeps in touch with the local authorities and representatives of transport companies so as to assist the citizens in difficulty. The Ministry noted it was informed about the constant efforts made by the responsible institutions of the neighboring state that became involved in the snow removal works on the impassable road sections, IPN reports.

In a press release, the Ministry says it uses the first-hand information collected by the diplomatic missions and consular offices, which is from the direct requests made by citizens by different ways and through different communication platforms (Ministry’s appeal center, mission’s emergency phone numbers, messages sent to webpages of embassies and the Ministry).

The emergency line of Moldova’s Consular Office in Odessa - +380 99 242 0835 - which was set up exclusively for Moldovans in difficult emergency situations, is also active.

Two Moldova buses got stuck on the Kuchurgan – Odessa road due to drifting. The passengers fear they will run short of water and food and also of fuel as this is used by the drivers to heat the units of transport.
