Moldovans returning from abroad assisted in starting businesses

Fifteen Moldovans who returned home from abroad benefited from consultancy in setting up businesses as part of the project “Encouraging Innovatory Use of Remittances in Productive Rural Investments”, launched on July 21. Artur Macovei, executive director of the Business Consulting Institute and co-author of the project, told Info-Prim Neo that a broad information campaign will be rolled out in September. Representatives of the Business Consulting Institute will travel to four settlements in central Moldova to offer advice in starting businesses. Information can be obtained on 85-50-77 and 85-50-80. The project implemented by the Business Consulting Institute and ProRural Invest will cover 12 central districts and is aimed at developing the entrepreneurial capacities of the migrants who returned home and of the recipients of remittances so as to increase investments. Within the project, the people will be provided with units of transport and will be helped to register companies. The International Fund for Agricultural Development contributed US$309,000 to the project. The local contribution is US$63,000. The project implementation period is July 2010 – June 2012. The potential beneficiaries can obtain information at the local mayors' offices.
