Moldovans in Canada vote in a larger number

The Moldovans who settled in Canada have voted in an almost twice higher number compared with the first round of presidential elections. The representative of the diaspora in Canada Ala Mandacanu has told IPN that the ballots at the polling place in Montreal may not be enough given the higher voter turnout.

“All the ballots could be used up by 6-7pm (local hour),” stated Ala Mandacanu. According to her, if this happens the people will be urged to vote at other polling places established in Ottawa and Toronto, which are at a distance of about two hours by car.

The time difference between Moldova and Canada is of 7 hours. The polling places in Canada will close when it will be 4am in Moldova.
