Moldovans have the lowest purchasing power in Europe
Moldova has the lowest purchasing power with a per capita average of 685 euros per annum, corresponding to just a fortieth of the purchasing power of Swiss citizens, "GfK Purchasing Power Europe 2007/2008" study shows.
With an average purchasing power of 27,521 euros in Switzerland and Liechtenstein and 27,395 euros in Luxembourg, these three countries have the largest index in Europe.
Ukraine is the last but one in the top of 40 states included in the study with a purchasing power of about 1,500 euros per capita.
