Moldovans deposit less
The deposits in Moldovan lei and foreign currency dropped in June compared with May to 2.422 billion lei (1.25 billion lei – deposits in lei, 1.17 billion lei – in foreign currencies), compared with 2.434 billion lei in May, Info-Prim Neo has learnt from the National Bank of Moldova.
It's the third month in a row when the deposits stand at about the same level. In April, the natural entities deposited 1.3 billion lei and 1.13 billion lei in foreign currencies.
Most of the deposits were placed for a period of 3 to 6 months (659.9 million lei – deposits in national currency and 560.5 million lei – in foreign currencies) and from 6 months to 12 months (543.8 million in lei and, respectively, 494.2 million lei), for which the banks offer the highest interests: 18.73 – 19.95 % for deposits in lei and 11.92 – 9.94 % for deposit in currency.
