Moldovans’ confidence in state institutions props, poll
The Moldovans’ level of confidence in state institutions has decreased, according to a poll by the Center of Sociological and Marketing Investigations “CBS-AXA”. While the Government, Parliament, the President and the judiciary all got poor scores, it indicates that the judges are least trusted, Info-Prim Neo reports.
Only 23.3% Moldovans think that the Government works well and very well, while in July the percentage was 31.9%. The level of confidence in Parliament decreased from 26.2% in July to 17%, and from 23.5% to 15.9% as regards the President’s Office. The Moldovans’ trust in the judiciary has halved since summer, down to 11.1%.
CBS-AXA director Ion Jigau stated that this drop in confidence levels is probably the result of a coalition type of government, as people aren’t used to such frequent arguments. Another reason could be the economic situation that worsened this year, he added.
Half of respondents think that the Government is to blame for corruption in Moldova. Only a fifth consider that people themselves are to blame for offering bribes and 11.7% blamed the police.
