In the past 24 hours, border crossing points recorded a total of 55,483 crossings, with over half - 29,519 - on entry into the Republic of Moldova, IPN reports.

Border police report that 20,517 Moldovans crossed the border within just 24 hours. However, the majority of crossings were made by foreign nationals, totaling 34,966.

The border with Romania was the busiest, with 26,461 crossings, followed by the Moldovan-Ukrainian border, which recorded 16,832 crossings.

The most frequented points were Chișinău International Airport and the land border crossings at Leuseni, Sculeni, Palanca, and Otaci.
