Moldovans who plan to go to Russia to work can verify online the period of validity of the work permit or employment license and possibly the reason why entry into Russia was banned. The Federal Migration Service of Russia recently launched a new information service on the website services.fms.gov.ru, IPN reports.
According to a communiqué from the Bureau for Relations with the Diaspora, those interested can select the active links on this website, depending on the purpose of their visit to Russia. Afterward, they will introduce the data required by the system. The received answers will be only informative in character. Confirmed information from juridical viewpoint can be obtained at the local offices of the Federal Migration Service.
The Bureau for Relations with the Diaspora said that Moldovan citizens are daily stopped at the border with Russia, including because of the irregularities identified in the Service’s information system. The situation is difficult as the people are not offered explanations why they are denied access. Secondly, in Russia there are more than ten institutions that can impose such restrictions. The people have to cope themselves at the border.
The Government of Moldova launched a special mechanism providing that the passenger transporting buses and minibuses that return to Moldova should have available seats for taking home the citizens who were banned access to Russia.
According to the most recent study made by the Center of Sociological, Politological and Psychological Analysis and Investigations CIVIS within the NEXUS Moldova Project, 206,000 Moldovans have stayed in Russia for more than 12 months, while about 88,000 citizens go to Russia regularly for seasonal work.
