The citizens of the Republic of Moldova and the persons with legal residence in the country during the next two weeks will be able to make nonessential trips to the countries of the Schengen area with a COVID -19 certificate, not with a negative PCR COVID-19 test result. Moldova has been removed from the EU’s safe list for non-essential travel because of its high daily infection rate, IPN reports, quoting the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration.
The Ministry recommends familiarizing oneself with the weekly travel alerts published on its website and with the policies pursued by air, road and rail companies before planning a trip.
On July 1, 2021, Moldova was put on the EU’s safe list for non-essential travel the following the improvement of the COVID-19 situation. The list is updated every two weeks. Moldova can be added to the list when the epidemiological situation improves again.
