The Greco-Roman wrestlers of Moldova have won five medals at the international tournament “Zagreb Open”. The final of the 77 kg class involved Daniel Cataraga, 25, and Alexandrin Guțu, 17. Cataraga emerged victorious by 4-2, IPN reports.
Donior Islamov also won gold, in the 67 kg class. The silver medalists are Victor Ciobanu (60 kg) and Valentin Petic (72 kg). The competition in Croatia brought together athletes from six countries.
“Zagreb Open” was a preparatory stage before the World Championship of Budapest that was set for December, but could be yet cancelled owing to the COVID-19 pandemic.
