Moldovan workers to be trained under German system

The Chamber of Trade and Industry of Moldova and the German Chamber of Skilled Crafts will prepare workers for eight professions in accordance with a German dual training system, Info-Prim Neo reports, quoting a communique from the Chamber of Trade and Industry. The partnership project was launched in November 2007 and lasted by December 2009. At the start of this year, it was extended for another three years. A sum of €250,000 will be invested in the equipment of the Chisinau-based Vocational High School No.1 and Professional School No. 9. The two schools will prepare workers for eight professions, including welder, locksmith, technician, cook, baker and others. Under the dual training system, the companies are engaged in the instruction of the workers. The head of the Chamber of Trade and Industry's Economy Department Sergiu Harea said two workshops have been set up at the two vocational schools. They were outfitted at a cost of €500,000. “One of the workshops will be used to train bakers and confectioners, while the other ones for pavers, house painters and plasterers. The workshops occupy an area of 500 square meters,” Sergiu Harea said. Seven trainers of the Professional Schools No. 9, 2 and 7, the Vocational High School No.1 and of the Vulcanesti specialized school as well as 75 students have been instructed at these workshops so far. More than 70 workers received continuous training.
