Forty-two wineries of Moldova, both renowned ones and small producers, exhibit their products at the Moldovan Wine Fair that is held at the NORD Events Center by Globalworth in Bucharest on Saturday and Sunday, IPN reports.
“For the Republic of Moldova, the wine industry has been a priority, strategic sector of the national economy. The importance of the sector is evident given the sector’s share of the national GDP and the pertinent results achieved in this valuable sector that became a visiting card of Moldova,” said Minister of Agriculture and Food Industry Vladimir Bolea.
Romania is the main market for the Moldovan wines, with a share of over 25% of this country’s wine imports. The figure is expected to rise by about 4% a year. With a value of the wine market assessed at about US$170 billion in 2021, Moldova exports wine products to over 75 countries across the globe.
The wine production exported by Moldova in 2021 totaled 121.4 million liters.
