Moldovan wants to be Jesus Christ

A Moldovan has recently filed an application to the registry office, asking that his name be changed into Iisus Hristos (Jesus Christ), Info-Prim Neo reports. As his application was rejected, he sued the Registry Service, said Alexandra Bacioi, the institution’s deputy director. The trial goes on. Alexandra Bacioi also said that more and more Moldovans want to change their family names, invoking different reasons like: the name is ridiculous, it does not correspond to the nationality, etc. Many Moldovans want back their names or the names of their parents used before their rusification. Many Jews that renounced their named during the Soviet period now want to restore them. Under the legislation, the Moldovan citizens can change their names if they have serious arguments. The applications are lodged with the registry offices and approved by the Registry Service. The procedure lasts for two months and is free of charge. If the applicant wants the name to be changed quicker, the service is for payment.
