Moldovan tomatoes are fewer at the markets in Chisinau and can be bought for 15– 18 lei/kg, as two weeks ago. Most of the stands sell imported tomatoes that cost 35 lei/kg and up. The Moldovan and imported cucumbers are both sold for 35 lei/kg, as two weeks ago, IPN reports.
Moldovan bell peppers can be bought for 25 lei/kg, up from 20 lei two weeks ago. The imported peppers cost 55 lei. Capsicums are sold for 40 lei/kg, up from 35 lei/kg earlier. Potatoes, onions, carrots and beetroots cost 5 lei/kg, 1 lei/kg down compared with two weeks ago. Cabbage is sold for 3 – 4 lei/kg, down from 4 – 5 lei/kg.
A bunch of green onion tops or dill costs 2.5 and 3 lei, as opposed to 3 – 4 lei two weeks ago. A kilogram of pumpkins is sold for 5 lei, down from 7 lei earlier. Vegetable marrows and eggplants are sold for 30 lei/kg, up 10 lei/kg.
Ewe milk cheese at the market can be bought for 80 – 85 lei/kg, as two weeks ago. Cow milk cheese and sour cream continue to be sold for 35 lei/kg. Pork and beef are sold for 65 lei/kg and up, as against 70 lei/kg two weeks ago. Ten hen eggs can be bought for 17 lei, down from 19 – 20 lei.
A kilogram of crap is sold for 45 lei, as opposed to 55 lei/kg two weeks ago, while of crucian fish for 33 lei and up, as earlier. Crabs can be bought for 120 – 180 lei/kg, as opposed to 250 lei two weeks ago.
Grapes are sold for 12 lei/kg on average. A kilogram of apples costs 7 - 8 lei, as two weeks ago.
