The foreign tourists who will choose to spend the winter holidays in Moldova will be able to receive carol singers, to go on visits, to prepare traditional Moldovan dishes and to go sledding. These are only some of the offers of the Moldovan tourist pensions for New Year and Christmas.
Contacted by IPN, head of the National Rural, Ecological and Cultural Tourism Association of Moldova Svetlana Lazar said a night at a pension in Orheiul Vechi on New Year’s Eve costs €45-50. The price includes accommodation and three meals and varies depending on the gastronomic preferences of the guests. The tourist pensions from Glodeni and Cahul provide the same services for €30-35 a night.
Most of the tourists are from Romania and come to Moldova on December 23-24, on Christmas Eve. They stay for at most two weeks. Svetlana Lazar said that most of the tourists choose rural tourist pensions because there it is quiet and they can learn how to prepare traditional dishes from products grown at local farms. About 100 tourists stay at Moldovan tourists pensions during the winter holidays.
