Radu Albot has won the first trophy this year. The Moldovan tennis player emerged victorious at a Futures competition in Antalya, Turkey. In the final, Albot beat Reid Carleton from the U.S. 6-1, 6-4, Info-Prim Neo reports. Last year, Albot won five tournaments in Turkey and became thus the best-ranked Moldovan tennis player in the world. Currently, he ranks 235th. Maxim Dubarenko was also close to scoring a victory. In the final of the Futures tournament held in Ukraine’s Cherkassy, he lost to Ukrainian Artiom Smirnov 7-6, 6-2. But he won the doubles together with Ukraine’s Vladislav Manafov. Now Dubarenko is the 511th in the ATP world rankings. This is the best result in his career. Albot and Dubarenko will continue to take part in the tournaments in Turkey and Ukraine this week.
