Moldovan teams suffer defeats in preparatory friendlies
FC Costuleni and CSCA-Rapid Ghidighici suffered defeats on Sunday in their first friendly matches played as part of a preparatory mid-season campaign in the Turkish resort of Antalya, Info-Prim Neo reports.
National Divizia's bottom club FC Costuleni was hammered 0-6 by Vfr Aalen. The German club, currently ranked 6th in the third division, scored three goals in each half, including two from penalty kicks.
FC Costuleni manager Velizar Popov saved his side from criticism. “In the first half we performed well, but received three goals accidentally. In the second half, we fielded players who are on trial”, the Bulgarian told the club's website.
Another Moldovan club that is preparing in Antalya, CSCA-Rapid Ghidighici, was defeated by Kazakhstan's champions Shakhter Karagandy, 1-3. The only goal from Rapid was scored by Alexandru Tofan, on the 68th minute. The next friendly match of the club coached by Sergiu Secu will take place on January 11, against the Russian club FK Mordovia Saransk.
